The Czech Association of Small Independent Breweries associates a hobby group of small breweries up to 200,000 hl that due to their size and character of production use traditional hand-manufacturing in many sections of the technology flow and are typical oldest Czech breweries. The headquarters of the association is actually the brewery Pivovar Černá Hora, a.s. with the president Ing. Jiří Fusek. From the very beginning, here are some objectives and thoughts of the association, forming a general program:

- To keep and develop cultural traditions connected with brewing and maltsting craft and point to historical
   importance of small breweries.
- To keep varieties of beer kinds, production of beery specialties that big breweries don´t produce, is of
   nonreplacable importance.
- To help developing regional tourism and to create openings in small towns and villages.
- To help to keep affordable prices of beer on our market.
- To create suitable conditions for tourism of "beer path" with connections abroad
  (Czech-German beer path).
- To fight for culture of packaging in glass recoverable bottles for benefit of consumer.

In 2003, after agreement of German, Czech, Romanian, Polish and Swiss association of small breweries, the European Association of Small Independent Breweries was formed to support small breweries in European countries.
