The town Náchod was formed on the border of an old provincial footpath and the first mention about the Náchod market town comes form 1254.
The Náchod civics owned the rights to brew up already in Middle Age. In June 1871, the town board decided to build a town brewery, so the era of brewing up in houses was over. The cornerstone was set on the 8th April 1872 and two years later the first glasses of beer were tasted. In 1935 the Municipal Brewery Náchod started to use the Náchodský Primátor trademark (together with production of dark beer) – it was an ancestor of current PRIMÁTOR® trademark. The brewery went under wide reconstruction and today it belongs among the most modern breweries in the Czech Republic. Modern devices allow for brewing the beer using classical centuries old technology characteristic for Czech beer. The beer complies with high international requirements for quality and keeps also its incommutable delicate taste.
Today, the brewery produces the widest and most integrated assortment of beers in the Czech Republic under the PRIMÁTOR trademark. This allows to meet requirements of wide spectrum of both consumers and the most demanding business partners. The brewery offers beer in bottles, cans, KEG barrels and special gift packs. The Primátor beer is produced from first-class carefully selected domestic roughs––malt from South Moravia, aromatic hops from Žatec and high-quality water from natural reservation Teplicko-adršpašské skály in the Broumovsko protected landscape area––mainly using the bottom fermentation technology. The beer has solid and sharp taste without side flavors and leaves the tongue with pleasant bitter slowly melting away without rough and astringent dash. Distinct advantage of the beer from Náchod is its long durability when keeping excellent visual and gustatory characteristics.
The key element of the brewery production is well-known first-class beer PRIMÁTOR Premium (light lager) and PRIMÁTOR Světlý (light beer), however, consumers can also taste some beer specialties like PRIMÁTOR Premium Dark (dark lager), PRIMÁTOR Nealko (light alcohol-free beer) or PRIMÁTOR Diamant (light beer with decreased content of sugars––formerly DIA). The pride of the brewery are original high-grade beer specials that bring more and more friends and enrich Czech beer market. It is PRIMÁTOR 13% Polotmavý (5.5% alc. vol.)––special intermediate beer––The Product of the Year 2006 in the BEER category of the Consumer’s choice 2006 contest – Best News, PRIMÁTOR 16% Exkluziv (7% alc. vol.) and PRIMÁTOR 21% Rytířský (9% alc. vol.)––special light beers, and the strongest readily produced Czech beer PRIMÁTOR 24 % Double (10% alc. vol.)––special dark beer. The beer product portfolio is completed with the PRIMÁTOR Weizenbier top-fermented wheat non-filtered yeasty beer––original beer of specific smell, taste and appearance. Among the last news (November 2006) belongs again very extraordinary beer––PRIMÁTOR English Pale Ale––top-fermented intermediate lager of English type.
