Pivovar Janáček a.s.

The brewing tradition in Uherský Brod goes back to second half of 13th century, when the king Přemysl Otakar II. promoted the town to Royal Town. The first common brewery that replaced houses with right to brew up was built in 1614 by the civics. However, Swedish troops destroyed the civic brewery in 1643 during the Thirty-year War. Another brewery was built in 1652 and this originally civic brewery was later bought by the Kaunic family and rented since 1848. One of the last occupants of the master brewery was Czech maltster František Bedřich Janáček (1845–1925), that has due to disagreements with the owner finally gone and build his own brewery that started in 1894. The tour through our brewery starts in old brewing house that serves today as a beerhouse for guests and business partners. Then follows through a new brewing house, fermenting cellars, technological areas, racking rooms and is finished with degustation in stock cellar. During the excursion, the visitor will learn everything about production and tradition of the Brod beer. The visitors can finish their tour in old brew-house, where we offer seven kinds of produced beers. The variety of the brewery production is enriched by six flavored beers called Beerberry. Not to forget to mention the Beer Fest that take place by the end of August. Lodging is available nearby in the U Brány hotel or in near spa-town Luhačovice, where you can pick from lots of hotels and boarding houses.
