Pivovar Broumov, s.r.o.

The oldest history of Brumov is not historically well described. There is a written document about Broumov from 1256. There was a monastic brewery and civic brewery. The monastic brewery was originally placed in the monastery. From 1662, the monastic beer was tapped in „Nové stavení“ (New Building) (later the pub called U tří růží). On 18th June 1664, there was a fire in the monastery. At the beginning of 18th century, the church decided to carry the monastic brewery over to different place, where it resides up till today. In 1848, the wooden fermenting tubs were replaced with new current fermenting cellar. The brew house was replaced in 1953. In 1949, they started to bottle the beer and by the end of 1960s, a new racking station was built on the court of the brewery. In 1994, this racking station was set aside, and a new building was built with a modern racking station inside. In 1994, the aluminum barrels were replaced with stainless steel. In 1950s, the icing was terminated. It was replaced with cooling compressors. The Brewery has its own malt-house and own well. It purchases hops from Žatec. The barrel racking station produces 55 barrels per hour and the bottle racking station produces 15,000 bottles per hour. The products are distributed in the area of East Bohemia. We produce 6 kinds of beer and one dark beer for export to Germany. The output is around 40,000 hl per year. The brewery has 35 employees. Lodging is available in Praha and Veba hotels in Broumov or in some boarding houses nearby. You can tour the brewery with possibility of cold food and beer degustations in showroom.
