The PEGAS microbrewery was built as one of the first in the Czech Rebublic after the year 1989 and the very first one in Moravia. The idea to re-build a historical building with basics from 14th century came in 1990 and in September 1992 started operating both brewery and restaurant/hotel. From the very beginning, four basic kinds of the PEGAS beer are brewed just before guests: light lager 12%, dark lager 12%, wheat special 12%, and PEGAS GOLD special 16%. During the year, another specials are being produced occasionally: vanilla, ginger, cooper, Christmas, etc. Originally, the brewing restaurant had 100 chairs, and in 1995, another two separate saloons were build up––each with 35 chairs at tables. On 18th December 2003, the 5,000,000th liter of the PEGAS beer was brewed up. In June 2005, the brewery was fundamentally re-adjusted and normal fermentation of beer was replaced with bottom fermentation in brand new CK tanks. The stock cellar was enlarged too, so the total output was increased and thus the PEGAS brewery is one of the biggest microbrewery in the Czech Republic. The brewery currently supplies another five beerhouses and restaurants. To accompany excellent beer, both local and foreign culinary specialties are recommended. Free excursions are offered to smaller groups of brewery guests. In three-storeys, lodging is available in two- and three-bed rooms equipped with bathroom, toilette, TV, phone and minibar.
